The Magic Puppet Parade

North Pole Studio co-founder Davis Wohlford established the organization’s values of Bravery, Compassion, Empowerment, Creativity, Friendship, Community and most of all, Magic. Over the course of 2024 three North Pole Studio artists were each assigned two of these values and asked to design a puppet that embodied or personified their assigned value.  These designs were then fabricated into wearable puppets. The fabrication process was directed and executed by NPS Workshop & Volunteer Manager (and puppet-maker extraordinaire) Phoebe Mol. Next, local composer, Licity Collins, was invited to learn about each of these puppets and assign a musical instrument to become the voice of the puppet.  She then composed a musical motif for each–just like Peter and the Wolf.  To kick off this night of magic, guests will see these values come to life in a magical puppet parade.

Bravery & Empowerment

North Pole Studio artist Dan Tran designed a butterfly, cocoon, and egg to embody the values of Bravery & Empowerment. Composer Licity Collins wrote a motif for violion to bring voice to this puppet which will be performed by Cecile Elliott.

Friendship & Community

North Pole Studio artist and co-founder Davis Wohlford designed a Alicorn to embody the values of Friendship & Community. Composer Licity Collins wrote a motif for soprano saxophone to bring voice to this puppet which will be performed by William Pyle.

Compassion & Inclusion

North Pole Studio artist Eva Adnarel designed a fairy to embody the values of Compassion & Inclusion. Composer Licity Collins wrote a motif for cello to bring voice to this puppet which will be performed by Mario Bastea-Forte.
