THOMAS RODRIQUE
Montana-based artist Thomas Rodrique has been making art since 2002. Thomas began his art practice by creating more structured and representational artwork, such as landscapes and characters. Over time his work evolved into the large-scale, freehand mosaic style that is characteristic of this large collection. Thomas’ process begins with quickly laying out the pattern for his design with a line drawing. His subjects include the things from life that interest him and bring him joy such as sports, chosen objects and flags. Thomas may spend several months carefully filling in his patterns, combining colored pencil and watercolor to create a complex web of textured and dimensional color.
Thomas is a world traveler, and deeply involved in his community through volunteerism, his many outdoor hobbies, and his work.

SUPPORT THOMAS’ PRACTICE
The Exhibiting Artist program serves artists nationally through entirely online services. Artists in this program often live and work in a service desert, with limited access to basic and vital resources such as art classes, art supplies, and opportunities to exhibit and sell work.
You can directly support Thomas’ practice by purchasing art supplies through his Amazon Wishlist. Your Amazon Wishlist purchase(s) will be shipped directly to Thomas’ studio - a small action with a big impact!
