Micah McLeod-Harrison

I am a visual artist currently living in Redmond Oregon, though i regularly visit the studio. I draw predominantly with micron pens and occasionally ballpoint and (especially charcoal) pencils.

My body of work constitutes an internally-consistent yet flexible ‘mythos’ or idiomatic structure of images and symbols. To put it more simply, my artwork takes place in different worlds, but uses a common language to express them. Other common threads underlying my art and its themes include the idea of the monster or alien as polyvalent expressive icons, the romanticization and uplift of human infrastructure to the level of symbols, and symbiosis or cross-pollination between disparate objects, spaces and worlds.

In addition to visual art, i am also a worldbuilder, poet, fiction author, and songwriter, and, additionally, an amateur singer, dancer and pianist.

I’m interested in everything, and everything has been always interested in me. I believe that i want the world to make me its lover. I affirm the world completely. I cannot affirm the world completely.

I want to go home. I just want to go home.
